Medicinal plants have long been integral to human health, offering therapeutic potential in treating bacterial infections, digestive, respiratory, cardiac, neurological disorders, and cancer. However, many phytochemical constituents suffer from poor water solubility, limited absorption, and low bioavailability, which constrain their clinical efficacy. This review systematically surveys the recent advances in herbo‑nano formulations, detailing the types of Nanocarriers, preparation methodologies, and strategies for targeted delivery of phytochemicals to cells. The review also highlights how nano‑delivery enhances bioavailability, stability, and therapeutic index while reducing toxicity. Overall, herbo‑nano formulations hold substantial promise to revitalize herbal therapeutics, but translational efforts toward clinical use require rigorous safety evaluation, standardization, and manufacturing scalability
