The role of ayurvedic herbs in skin rejuvenation by face mask: Ficus religiosa and beyond

Abstract:

The aim of this research work is to formulate and evaluate a cosmetic herbal face pack for glowing skin by using natural ingredients. With the varying concentrations, the formulations containing ingredients such as Ficus religiosa, multani mitti, aloe vera, rose water, saffron, orange peel, lemon oil and coffee; were prepared. All prepared formulations were evaluated by different parameters like organoleptic properties and homogenicity and stability along with irritancy test and spreadability and washability. Among the formulation, was found to be good in physical parameters, free from skin irritation and maintained its consistency even after stability storage conditions and also having microbiological stability. Face pack trap moisture in the skin, creating a film that helps hydrate, moisture, dry, exfoliate the skin. They can be used acne treatment, vitamin C for fine line, retinoid for dark spots. Face pack is effective for hydrating the skin, removing excess oil and impurities and improving pores appearance.
