Endometriosis is a prevalent and complex gynecological disorder characterized by the growth of endometrial-like tissue outside the uterus, causing significant pain, infertility, and diminished quality of life. This review aims to comprehensively evaluate the current therapeutic approaches for managing endometriosis, including conventional treatments like pain management with NSAIDs and opioids, hormonal therapies such as combined oral contraceptives, progestins, and GnRH agonists, and surgical options including laparoscopic excision and hysterectomy. Additionally, the review explores alternative and complementary therapies, such as herbal medicine, dietary adjustments, and acupuncture, which offer potential benefits but often lack strong clinical evidence. Emerging therapies, including novel pharmacological agents and genetic approaches, are also discussed for their promise in addressing the limitations of current treatments. By synthesizing data from recent studies and clinical trials, this review highlights the efficacy, safety, and limitations of various treatment modalities, identifies existing research gaps, and provides recommendations for future research to enhance personalized treatment strategies and improve patient outcomes in endometriosis management.
